I have finally moved back into working with the canine industry. After almost three whole years of a wait I’m glad to return to dog grooming. Because working with dogs is fun and therapeutic. It is also quite challenging. The next few months should be interesting. I accept the challenge. In mythology two deities that stand out as being close to dogs are Hecate & Cú Chulainn.
Not only am I back to bathing dogs, but also clipping and dremeling dog nails, cleaning ears, brushing teeth and cutting the hair that grows above paw pads. I’m still not there quite yet with grooming their sanitary areas (which is the private parts for animals). All walks of holistic health, but specifically reiki, aromatherapy, massage and chinese medicine, for animals in general fascinates me.
By the first week of 2018 I will have a certificate for completing Bathing 101. Afterwards I will be taking Grooming 101 and then possibly Grooming 102 and 103. My goal for the year is to obtain whatever certificates I can & possibly start taking classes at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.
Getting back into the groove of yoga. I need to start doing it regularly I have no reason not to, besides my depression. I went off two anxiety meds and two antidepressants. Then I went back on one of each. It’s a struggle I know I could do more with reiki too, but it most certainly gets in the way (Having a debilitating mental illness).
Since the fall/autumn tide I started to regularly purchase both REIKI magazine and the Mountain Astrologer magazine. Looking at joining the San Diego Astrological Society in January. There is a class on astrocartography that I’d really like to attend. Both relocation and astrocartography are two of the various facets of astrology that fascinate me. Although I realize that they are not exactly the same thing. Thanks to the astrology 101 class i took this year!
I have taken various online classes including Voice of the Trees, Old Ways of Witchcraft and Ash, Birch and Willow. Soon I’ll be starting one called the Inner Mysteries. After that I’d like to see if it’s possible to take the class on Stregheria (Italian Witchcraft). I was so saddened by ravensloft store being closed for a large part of 2017. Very glad that they are open again & still doing business 🙂
After having various reiki attunements including Usui Natural Healing Reiki 1 & 2 in the state of Washington I had an Erotic Reiki 1 attunement in California. Then I left the one city that I knew for so long (San Francisco) and decided to come to San Diego. From here I began taking classes through the University of Metaphysical Sciences online.
Looks like it’ll be a while before I obtain the degree I want from UMS, but I want a more sturdy and meaningful backup for my reiki. Something better than the Universal Life church. No offense to anyone that took that route, but it’s not enough for me. Besides having either a bachelors, ministerial or doctorate there I suppose I should be stepping up my reiki with more attunements. I just don’t ever use it I can’t find people open to it.
